Predation

Predation should be the greater focus than the subject or reasoning. The notion that when presented with the option to prey upon another, or assist another, which option is your default?

Sure, anyone can be be pushed into it through one mechanism or another, but what's your default?

Those that default to predation are predatory, opportunistic, they see everything through the lens of an artificial hierarchy of their own creation.

Those that default to assistance, that choose compassion over competition, they're of a different sort. In empathy, they gain an understanding of what binds us, the very force behind love itself.

But what's your default? What's your approach to the opportunity of another's misfortune?
